Seniors take ‘AdvantAge’ of free Genesys program

Genesys Health System will help local older adults maintain a healthy, independent lifestyle through an improved service. Genesys AdvantAge (formerly Genesys Club 65 Advantage) invites area seniors to enjoy special treatment and assistance with their health care needs.
"The program now is open to individuals age 55 and over," announces Marla Dais, AdvantAge manager. "The name reflects a new age requirement for membership. The age requirement was lowered so more older adults can take advantage of this free program."

Club 65 Advantage members automatically will become members of AdvantAge, Dais points out. "Member discounts and benefits will remain the same, however, members no longer need their membership card to receive benefits," she adds.

Member benefits include:
* Free assistance in locating a physician
* Free insurance counseling
* Discounts on private home care, adult day care, medical equipment and nutritional counseling
* Discounts on "Freedom on the Road" driving advisement program
* Discounts on moving expenses when moving to Abbey Park Senior Apartments
* Quarterly newsletter with invitations to special events and programs
* Coupons for Genesys and community services

"AdvantAge also will partner with community organizations and businesses to provide additional activities and benefits for its members," Dais says. This fall, AdvantAge, along with Genesys Volunteers and Superior Travel, is offering a specially priced European trip for program members and Genesys volunteers.
