Genesys earns Trauma Center reverification

(GENESEE COUNTY, MI) Genesys Regional Medical Center at Health Park once again has met the rigid standards of the American College of Surgeons' Committee on Trauma, and has been reverified as a Level II Trauma Center. This achievement recognizes the trauma team's capabilities, the trauma center's outstanding clinical performance, and the center's dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients. All trauma patients coming to Genesys are seen and treated by specially trained trauma physicians and clinicians skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with orthopedic, neurosurgical, chest and abdominal trauma injuries. Genesys is one of only 18 verified trauma centers in Michigan.
The American College of Surgeons' Committee on Trauma commended Genesys for its demonstrated commitment to provide superior trauma care.

Established by the American College of Surgeons in 1987, The Committee on Trauma's verification consultation program for hospitals promotes the development of trauma centers where the entire spectrum of care is provided to trauma patients, from the pre hospital phase through the rehabilitation process. The committee works to improve all phases of the management of injured patients including injury prevention.
