Genesys sponsors Dash for a Difference - funds go to help hospice patients and families

(GENESEE COUNTY, MI) Genesys Athletic Club will host the 11th annual Dash for a Difference to raise funds for Genesys Hospice patients and families.
Date of the fundraiser is Saturday, Sept. 24.

The Dash event includes these races and walks:

5K run: 10 am

5K walk: 10:05 am

One mile fitness run for kids: 10:45 am

Quarter mile indoor fitness run for kids (on the track of Genesys Athletic Club): 11:10 am

Registration begins at 8:30 am outside Genesys Athletic Club.

The Dash for a Difference course winds through the grounds of Genesys Regional Medical Center's Health Park campus, which includes its paved, scenic nature trails.

Awards are presented to overall and first Master's male and female finishers, and the top three finishers in each division. (Age groups are: 12 and under, 13 to 15, 16 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, 70 to 74, and 75 and over.)

All participants in the kids' races will receive a finisher's award. Parents may accompany their children.

Cost is $20 for early registration (by Sept. 9) and includes a t-shirt, or $15 without a t-shirt. After Sept. 9, the cost is $25 (with t-shirt) or $20 (without t-shirt). All kids' races are one price - $10 - and it includes a t-shirt.

Child care is available for children ages 2 to 10. To reserve child care services, call 810-606-7534. Reservations are required.

Genesys Hospice provides services wherever a patient lives - whether it is at home, in a nursing home, an assisted living facility, or at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. The Genesys Hospice team is dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support to enhance quality of life through expert pain control, symptom management, and psychosocial and spiritual support. The team, under the direction of the patient's primary care physician as well as a medical oncologist, includes nurses, home health aides, social workers, therapists, volunteer and clergy. Genesys Hospice staff are available 24 hours a day to ensure patient needs are met as soon as they arise.

Genesys Regional Medical Center's Health Park campus is located in Grand Blanc Township (between Holly Road and Baldwin Road, exit 108 off I-75).
