Labor Rehearsal I: What do I do?
In this class, you will learn the early signs of labor and comfort measures, and learn what to expect and how to plan. You will also tour the Family Birthing Center and receive an online course book.
In Labor Rehearsal II: Highlights, you will learn the comfort strategies for labor and delivery including positioning, massage and pain management. Instructors will teach breathing patterns and the birthing process. Each class is 2 ½ hours; fee is $40. To register, call (810) 606-5897.
Safety and Prevention Class
This free class is offered monthly at Genesys Regional Medical Center. In this class you will learn how to create a safe environment and how to reduce certain risk factors for your newborn. Class is approximately 2 ½ hours. To register, call (810) 606-5897.
Genesys helps expectant mothers prepare for breastfeeding, early breastfeeding in the hospital, nutrition, nursing at home and problem-solving. New moms will also be given instructions on how to pump and store breast milk. To register, call (810) 606-5897.
Outpatient Breastfeeding Clinics
Sometimes, new moms need guidance as they begin breastfeeding their babies. Sometimes, problems arise after breastfeeding has been established. Our Outpatient Breastfeeding Clinics (offered in four locations) address the needs of the mother and infant. Each of the sites is staffed by physicians and lactation consultants. Mothers can self refer or be referred by their physician. The clinics provide support to mothers and infants who are experiencing breastfeeding difficulty, such as:

Birthing Center Tours

Genesys offers inpatient and outpatient services to assist mothers with healthy lactation during breastfeeding.
