Clinical Trial Research
The Genesys Office of Research is a model of distinction in the art and science of medical care. Through Clinical Project Management (CPM), we assist physicians in finding better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases. The Genesys Office of Research functions as a matrix center within a large, multifaceted institutional environment, and coordinates clinical trials with a systematic, centralized, and streamlined approach
Our attention to detail approach includes:
Clinical Project Management is a structured system for achieving excellence in the performance of clinical research activities at academic research centers and hospitals through the integration of disciplined, interconnected development and
- Fast turnaround on site questionnaires
- Experienced Clinical Research Nurse Coordinators trained in Clinical Project Management
- Principle Investigator training for both inpatient and clinic-based studies
- Rapid contract and budget turnaround
- Ability to use rapid site Institutional Review or a Central IRB
- Study plan with enrollment milestones implemented for each trial
- Speedy and complete regulatory document processing
- Flexible monitor visit scheduling
The key to CPM is coordinated responsiveness to internal conditions and industry requirements. Critical CPM elements at Genesys include centralization efficiencies, flexible organizational measures, and expedited processes that enable the direction of resources to mission fulfillment. This CPM produces a beneficial environment that promotes initiative and realizes management goals within a realistic timeframe.
All clinical trials for investigational medications and medical devices are centralized. They operate under the direction of a full-time Director of Research and all investigators are supported by experienced and accredited Registered Nurse coordinators.
Removing impediments that characterize most hospital-based research programs, Genesys introduces a flexible IRB process to facilitate participation in multi-center studies. Realistic budget preparation and fast, efficient contract turnaround are hallmarks of the Genesys research experience.
Sponsors who tour our campus are awestruck by the state-of-art facilities. We welcome industry monitors to visit us and see how Genesys can assist in upcoming clinical trials. For more information on Clinical Research Services, please contact Candy Rainwater at (810) 606-7722.
Academic Medical Research
The Genesys pursuit of research is based in a long and rich history of both allopathic and osteopathic medical education. Because of the Genesys Health System size and its medical science-based focus, resident physicians and students can conduct research with faculty and attending physicians early in their medical careers. We assure high quality clinical research studies conducted at and with Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Genesys values the scholarly activity of its physician, nurse, and medical student investigators and is committed to fostering an environment conducive to education, research and medicine. Research is one cornerstone of an academic medical education. Physicians and students are instructed on how to analyze data, master research methodologies, and evaluate research findings in the clinical setting. Opportunities exist for independent research with Genesys physicians and to collaborate with leading medical faculty and university professionals affiliated with the hospital.
The Genesys Office of Research also supports the FAME Research Forum, a full day of scholarly presentations, to encourage and promote communication and collaboration between investigators at all three area hospitals. This annual day has been set aside to recognize area Resident and Faculty physician research efforts, to highlight medical education scholarly activities, and to showcase the diversity and growth of research pursuits in the local medical community.
Globally, regional medical centers are becoming recognized as much for their cutting-edge research as their clinical excellence. The significance to the advancement of medicine through research endeavors among our physicians is given a high priority at Genesys. We foster interdisciplinary research and support the scholarly activity that puts medicine “one step closer to tomorrow”.
