Living Our Values Award Nominations

Living Our Values (LOV) Award


Genesys Health System has established the LOV recognition award to honor employees, volunteers, resident or active member of the GHS Medical Staff who best demonstrate the qualities exemplified by the core values of the organization (Service of the poor, Reverence, Integrity, Wisdom, Creativity, and Dedication). A maximum of four nominees will be selected and announced each quarter with one awardee being selected and honored at the end of the fiscal year for demonstrating the highest achievement of living the health system’s values.

Eligibility Requirements:
In order to be eligible to receive a LOV Award, an employee, volunteer or medical staff resident must meet the following criteria:
  1. Service or privileges of one calendar year
  2. Member in good standing with the community
  3. Advocate of Genesys Health System in all venues
  4. Holds self accountable to work and goals
  5. Takes an optimistic approach to challenges and ideas
  6. Currently not in the progressive discipline process (of any type)
  7. Has not received a LOV award in the previous 12 month period
  8. Consistent in demonstrating the living our values
  9. Presents a positive, problem solving, appreciative approach to team work
Submission Requirements:
  1. Nominations may be submitted by a peer, manager, director, vice president or patient/ patient family member.
  2. Quarterly submissions must be received by the following dates:
    a. First quarter (July-Sept): October 31
    b. Second quarter (Oct.-Dec.): January 31
    c. Third quarter (Jan.-March): April 30
    d. Fourth quarter (Apr.-June): July 31
Nominations also are accepted in hard copy form.

Selection Process:
The LOV rewards & recognition committee will select up to 4 nominees within 30 days of the quarterly final submission dates above. The Annual award will be chosen from one of the quarterly award winners and announced at the annual breakfast with the CEO in September.

Committee selections are final and non-negotiable

Quarterly and Annual Award:
Quarterly nominees receive a boxed lunch for their unit/department, acknowledgement of their accomplishment in the INK and in the Genesys Callings, a trophy to be displayed in their unit/ department in their honor and an invitation to attend the annual breakfast with the CEO to honor them.

The annual nominee will receive acknowledgement of their accomplishment in the INK and in the Genesys Callings, an additional larger trophy displayed on their unit/department in their honor and will be recognized at the annual breakfast as the annual awardee.
