Health Navigator/Care Manager training - Genesys Health System | Grand Blanc, MI

Baker College and Genesys are working cooperatively to offer a six-week health navigator/care manager training course beginning Tuesday, Jan. 31. The course will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Baker College of Flint. Class dates are: Jan. 31, Feb. 14, Feb. 21, Feb. 23, Feb. 28, March 1 and March 8. The training includes 21 hours of interactive face-to-face classroom time and 19 hours of web-based learning. Students will learn motivational interviewing techniques and rapport building skills with patients and providers in order to serve as a key member of the health care team.

Upon successful completion of the training, students will receive a certificate. Cost is $675 plus a book fee. Genesys employees may be eligible for tuition reimbursement. For details on tuition reimbursement, call 606-6430.

A health navigator/care manager is part of the health care team who reaches out to engage patients in their own health and self-management to improve health outcomes.
