About the Genesys Volunteers
Genesys Volunteers support the Genesys Health System mission to improve the health of our community. Volunteers provide service and fundraising efforts that help to support Genesys Regional Medical Center (GRMC) meet the needs of the community and exceed their expectations.
The Genesys Volunteers Board of Directors coordinate activities and projects in support of GRMC. The board responsibilities include volunteer newsletters, educational programs, membership activities, fundraising projects and overall representation of the volunteers.
In support of the volunteers, the Genesys Volunteer Services department is responsible for interviewing, screening, training, placement and the retention of all volunteers. This also includes the development and coordination of all volunteer areas within GRMC. The goal of Volunteer Services is to ensure volunteers have an excellent experience as they contribute their time and talents to Genesys.
Currently there are over 41 different areas for volunteering within GRMC, alone. Each year, Genesys Volunteers contribute over 55,000 hours of service and raise approximately $300,000 from fundraising efforts. The volunteer fundraising dollars directly support specific projects for the hospital.
Genesys Volunteers are the “heart” of our organization. They are truly appreciated and are loved by the physicians and staff within the organization.
