About the Foundation

Through the Genesys Health Foundation, individuals, businesses, foundations and other organizations are able to make gifts and bequests to benefit the programs and services of Genesys. Income from these gifts is used to address a broad range of community healthcare needs.

The Genesys Health Foundation, governed by a Board of Directors, is comprised of local business and civic leaders, organized as a means for accepting and distributing charitable funds for Genesys Health System.

Through the Genesys Health Foundation, we are committed to:

  • Bringing the latest and best medical care to our community
  • Enabling our system to be creative in designing care solutions tailored to wherever we serve
  • Improving access to healthcare services for those who are uninsured and under-served
  • Creating a workplace in which our own associates are inspired, sustained and motivated by the good works we are accomplishing
  • Continuing to be the area’s leader in building the future of healthcare
The Genesys Health Foundation is responsible for generating and administering all charitable gifts for Genesys Health System - one of the largest and most comprehensive health systems in mid-Michigan with more than 80 years of unwavering commitment to serving our community.

As we pursue our vision for the future, we never lose sight of the people we serve.

Among our charitable commitments ...
  • The Genesys Charity Classic annual fund-raiser has helped our community through congregations participating in our parish nursing program, and by providing the means to immunize thousands of our area children, effectively doubling childhood and adolescent immunizations among Medicaid patients. In addition, the Genesys Charity Classic helped raise support for individuals pursuing a degree in the field of healthcare. In 2008, Genesys Charity Classic will support Health Access. Health Access improves access to quality healthcare for uninsured and under insured residents of Genesee County.
  • Funds from Healthy Students 2000, a Genesys-sponsored community outreach initiative, have been used to help improve safety, prevent violence, and expand nutrition and health programs in local schools.
  • Throughout the year, Genesys provides free medical care to underinsured and uninsured Bendle School district students and their family members, students in Flint’s Longfellow Middle School, and patients at the McCree North Adult Clinic, and the Genesee County Free Medical Clinic. In addition, Genesys support can be seen in breast cancer awareness campaigns, and medical education for the next generation of physicians.

As you can see, the philanthropic spirit is alive and well at Genesys. Won’t you please share in that spirit by making a gift to the Genesys Health Foundation?
