Message from Genesys Chief Nursing Officer

From the desk of Pam Cislo, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO):

It is truly a privilege to serve as CNO for Genesys Regional Medical Center. Every day, I am witness to a special kind of caring and compassion; dedication and diligence; energy and enthusiasm offered to our patients by our nursing staff that I feel is unmatched. Consumers in our surrounding area realize this, too – consistently naming Genesys the best hospital for nursing care.

Genesys is a member of Ascension Health, the largest Catholic Healthcare System in the country. At Ascension, Genesys is recognized for achievement of superior clinical outcomes and low complication rates. This accomplishment can only happen when nurses are integrally involved and committed to delivering knowledgeable, high quality care around the clock.

Our goal is to ensure that Genesys is a destination for nursing practice. We offer low staff to patient ratios, considered benchmark in the industry. We continually provide education and training for staff professional and personal development. We provide both formal and informal meeting structures to give nurses a strong and talented voice in creating their own practice environment. Nursing leaders dedicate their efforts to creating model units where nurses can engage in professional nursing and make their optimal contribution. We are continuously looking for innovations that will improve patient care delivery and make the practice of nursing more rewarding, both now and into the future.

At Genesys, we believe that caring for patients and their families during the most vulnerable moments of their lives is one of the most sacred encounters one can possibly have. It is a responsibility that Genesys nurses never take lightly.
