Winter session of mini-medical school begins Monday, Feb. 23. Class topics include: lungs at work, skin care, aging, blood tests and what they mean, clinical trials, the GI system, joint pain, dental health, orthopedics/broken bones and arthritis vs. osteoporosis.

Participants will:

  • better understand medical information presented to them by their doctor
  • better understand media and internet health information they receive
  • be less fearful of procedures and illnesses
  • take charge of their own health - which increases the overall health and well-being of our community!
MMS is a venue to bring the community to Health Park for reasons other than an illness. It willl allow our "expert patients" to become familiar with the services available through Genesys Health System. Genesys physicians will be able to interact with patients in an academic setting, creating ties with the community and other local health and education based facilities.

Graduate credits
UM-Flint graduate credits (1 each semester) are offered through the University’s Health Education Department and may be suitable as an elective in a UM-Flint graduate program or for purposes of maintaining Michigan teacher professional certification requirements.  For more information, contact Robert Hahn at rhahn@umflint.edu.
