Cancer Support Group “We All Can”
Group discussions and guest speakers provide emotional support and cancer education for patients, family members and friends. The group meets every Thursday at Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. For more information call (810) 762-8226 or (888) 762-8675.

Grief Recovery / Bereavement / Caregiver Support Groups
Infant/Pregnancy Loss Support Group (WINGS)
This service is open to all parents in the community who’ve experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth or newborn death. Support begins at the patient’s bedside and continues into the community through a group called WINGS (When I Need Grief Support). When families hear the tragic news, everyone seems to struggle with what to say, finds Dawn Travis, RN, patient care director of the Genesys Family Birthing Center. “Sometimes, ‘I’m sorry’ may be the best words.” Travis and her team of nurses obtained special training to help offer the right support at the right time for these grief-stricken families. Pam Montney, RN in the Genesys Family Birthing Center, oversees WINGS, which is open to moms, dads, grandparents and other relatives who are affected by the loss of a child. Genesys Hospice Bereavement Support Group
Offers support to anyone who has experienced a death or a significant loss. Group meets first Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. or the third Thursday of each month 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Genesys West Flint Campus. Please call Cheryl Laramore at (810) 636-5010 for more information.

Caregivers Support Group
This group provides individuals caring for elderly or handicapped family members an opportunity to discuss their concerns with others in similar situations. Group meets the fourth Wednesday of every month except December from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Genesys West Flint Campus.Center for Gerontology is located through main entrance - take first hallway to the left. Diabetes Support Group
Control is our Goal! Guest speakers and group discussions provide education and emotional support for people with diabetes along with their family members and friends. The group meets from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m., every other month on Thursdays in the Diabetes & Nutrition Learning Center at the Genesys Athletic Club, Suites 821-831. Kidney Cancer Support Group
GHCI launches Kidney Cancer Support Group
Genesys Hurley Cancer Institute (GHCI) has launched a new Kidney Cancer support group to help these cancer patients and their families cope with this growing diagnosis. For more information and future support group dates, please call (810) 232-8233.

Parkingson's Support Group
Flint Area Parkinson’s Support Group
Participants share information and support with others who have this chronic nervous system disorder. Family and friends are welcome. Group meets third Thursday of each month from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Genesys West Flint Campus Auditorium. Call (810) 762-4240 for more information.

Smoking Support Group
Stop Smoking Support Group
Group meetings will provide you with strategies and support to help achieve a smoke-free life. The group meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at GHCI from noon to 1 p.m.

Stroke Support Group
Genesys Inpatient Rehabilitation Center's staff will sponsor a free community stroke support group on the first Thursday of each month from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., in the Health Park atrium conference room. This group provides an opportunity for stroke survivors and their families to exchange ideas, support and encourage each other, and learn more about their medical condition. Each meeting will include an educational component as well as information on resources available in the local community for stroke survivors.
