Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Genesys Regional Medical Center (GRMC) is proud to offer a wide variety of Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs for its medical staff. The mission of the GRMC CME program is to improve the health and well-being of patients and the public by providing current information on preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic modalities to physicians within Genesee County and surrounding communities. Educational programs will be planned with the intent of meeting the following goals:

  • To identify educational needs through needs assessment and quality assurance procedures.
  • To update the physician’s medical knowledge.
  • To promote physician-directed patient education that is appropriate and current.
  • To update the physician’s knowledge of preventive medicine, diagnostic skills, and therapeutic strategies and modalities.
  • To update physicians in new medical research and its clinical application.
  • To introduce new technology and medical procedures.
  • To facilitate the self-learning process for life-long physician learners.
Internet Point of Care
The purpose of the Internet Point of Care CME is to provide structured, self-directed, online learning for physicians on topics relevant to their clinical practice. [Find out more ...]

CURRICULUM
Congdon
Held the 2nd Wednesday of each month from January through November. Purpose: To update the physicians medical knowledge on topics identified through needs assessment and quality measures. [Find out more ...]

New Horizons in Cardiac Care Fourth National Forum
February 9, 2008. Purpose: To cover practical case studies and the latest techniques and technologies in the field of cardiology.

Tumor Board
Held every Tuesday. Purpose: To improve patient care through interdisciplinary collaboration of cancer treatment planning and education.

Breakfast Club
Held the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Purpose: To offer specific educational programs for an identified population of physicians. Held upon request.

Lung Cancer Conferences
Held bi-weekly on Thursday of each month. Purpose: To improve patient care through interdisciplinary collaboration of lung cancer treatment planning and education.

Trauma Morning Report Conferences
Held the 2nd Friday of each month. Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of intra-hospital trauma interventions and the effectiveness of the medical management of specific organ injuries.

Trauma Clinical Rounds
Held every Friday except the 2nd Friday of the month. Purpose: To review patients seen on the trauma service and discuss any performance or process issues.

Breast Conferences
Held bi-weekly on Monday of each month. Purpose: To improve patient care through interdisciplinary collaboration of breast cancer treatment planning and education.

Oncology Rounds
Held every Tuesday.

PHO Conferences
Held as requested

Perinatal Morbidity and Mortality Review
Held quarterly. Purpose: Recognize opportunities to improve standards of care and strengths in reviewed case studies. Develop recommendations for best practices applicable to clinical settings in Genesee County.

Surgical Training Resources
Genesys Surgery Training Resources provides surgeons and medical device companies state-of-the-art cadaveric and simulator training modalities for the purpose of learning new surgical procedures and related technological innovations. [Find out more ... ]
