Genesys Neurosciences - Stroke Care

The single most important factor in treating an acute stroke is time. Stroke is an emergency. Stroke victims need urgent medical care. Call 9-1-1 if you think you, or someone else is experiencing a stroke. Symptoms of stroke can include:

  • Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes including blurry vision or "graying"
  • Sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body
  • Sudden confusion or trouble speaking or understanding
  • Facial droop/weakness
  • Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
  • Sudden severe headache with no known cause
If there is any doubt whether you, or someone around you, is experiencing a stroke, seek immediate medical attention.

Your brain is one of the human body's most fascinating and complex organs. The brain controls almost all bodily functions and gives us our own unique personality. Attached to the brain and helping to send electrical impulses throughout the body is the spine; an interconnected string of bones and cartilage that houses the delicate spinal cord. Together, the brain and spine is arguably the most complex set of structures in the human body.

At Genesys, no one in the region can boast the skill and expertise in this complex area of the human body. In fact we are rated in the top 3.5% of hospitals nationwide for our Stoke Care. And we've created a team of neuroscience specialists, each with advanced knowledge and skill to tackle even the most complex cases. Specially trained in many of the latest treatment techniques, these specialists are part of a multidisciplinary team of care givers at Genesys with one goal in mind: getting you back to your normal self
