EMS Educators

Dominic Foster is the manager of EMS Education. He has been involved in EMS since 1993 in many different capacities, most recently as the Medical Director for Blair Township EMS. Dominic is one of the founding members of STAT EMS, LLC. He has also worked as the Operations Manager of Swartz Ambulance Service, Inc., and as the Director of Operations of Byron Area Ambulance Service. Dominic has been an EMS Instructor Coordinator since 1996. He has been instructing ACLS at Genesys since 1997 and has also been involved in teaching part of the Trauma Nurse Core Curricullum (TNCC). In addition to his other teaching activities, Dominic is also a BLS instructor. He has educated more than 1400 providers and lay persons in BLS over the years. He is currently a member of the Genesee County Medical Control Authority (GCMCA) - Professional Standards Review Organization Committee and sits on the GCMCA Board and EMS Education Commitee.

Ron Green is a full time educator for Genesys Regional Medical Center. He started at Genesys in December 2004 and currently teaches Paramedic classes. Ron has also been teaching ACLS at Genesys since March 2004. Ron started his EMS career as a Genesys EMT student in 1996 and then worked for a short time at CM Ambulance in 1997. He left CM Ambulance and went to work at Swartz Ambulance Service that same year. While at Swartz he attended the Genesys Paramedic Program in 1999 and then became one of thier Field Training Officers. In 2003, Ron attended the Instructor Coordinator course and now teaching at Genesys is his full time job, but he still holds many friendships with others in the EMS community.

Joe Miron's EMS life started in 1997 while working for General Motors. In February 1998 Joe became a Medical First Responder. In February 1999 he became a licensed Emergency Medical Technician – Basic. Joe went to work for Swartz Ambulance in September 2000. While working at Swartz he became an Instructor/Coordinator and in August 2005, Joe started working for Genesys EMS Education, teaching the EMT-Basic class. In March 2006 he became a licensed Paramedic. His certifications (MFR, EMT, and Paramedic) where received from Genesys EMS Education, where Dominic Foster was his instructor for all of them. Joe is married and resides in Davison.

Chris Patrello has been in EMS since 2000. After receiving his Bachelors Degree from Central Michigan University and graduating from EMT class began volunteer work for North Oakland County Fire Authority. Shortly thereafter he began working part time at Swartz Ambulance and continued to work full time as a college recruiter. In 2001 Chris made EMS his full-time career and became a paramedic. He continued his career at Swartz and made the move to Genesys in 2007 as an EMS educator. Chris is married to an ER nurse and has three wonderful children.
