Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS)

PEARS helps healthcare providers develop the knowledge and skills needed for emergency evaluation and treatment of seriously ill infants and children.

PEARS teaches providers how to recognize respiratory distress, shock and cardiac arrest, and provide appropriate lifesaving interventions within the initial minutes of response until the child is transferred to an advanced life support provider. The goal of PEARS is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured infants and children, resulting in improved outcomes. PEARS is for healthcare providers such as Medical First Responders (MFR's), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), and any other healthcare provider who infrequently see critically ill infants and children. This PEARS Provider course meets the Genesee County Medical Control Authority Pediatric Certification requirement for all levels EXCEPT Paramedic.

This course is not designed for Paramedics or Registered Nurses. Paramedics or Registered Nurses in need of an advanced pediatric course should register for PALS.

Enrollment for ALL PEARS Courses require Online Registration. Phone, fax or mail registration not accepted!

All course materials will be mailed promptly after registrations are processed!
