Medical Student Clinical Rotations

GRMC plays an important role in the education of both allopathic and osteopathic medical students entering their clinical training. Genesys has major teaching affiliations with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine (MSUCHM) and College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM), Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM), and the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCUMB)

A wide variety of elective rotations are offered for visiting medical students:

General Internal Medicine
General Surgery
Gyne Surgery
Hematology/Oncology
Nephrology
Neurology
Neurosurgery
OB/GYN
Ophthalmology
Orthopedic Surgery

Pulmonary Medicine
Radiation Oncology
Units/Critical Care (4th year only)
Vascular Surgery

Educational programs provided to students include:

Daily Morning Reports
Daily Noon Conferences
On-Service Lectures
Journal Clubs
Monthly Congdon Lecture Series

Osteopathic students are welcome to submit a rotation request through our website. Due to the high demand for rotations, visiting students are limited to two (2) during an academic year. Allopathic students must schedule rotations through Michigan State University/Flint Area Medical Education (MSU/FAME) ( www.msufame.msu.edu).

Medical students are encouraged to visit our Medical Center for a tour and talk with residents, interns, faculty and staff about medical education programs. Tours are given on the 1^st and 3^rd Friday of every month at 1:00 p.m.
