The 17th annual Charity Classic is a Genesys Health Foundation special event that raises money for the local community. Funds raised through this event will benefit the Genesys Health Foundation’s Women & Children’s $2 million Capital Campaign. For years there has been a great need to increase the safety and level of obstetrical care in our community. There are serious risks and lack of coverage for our community’s expectant mothers and newborns. Our region is among the nation’s worst for infant morbidity and mortality. There is a rising birth rate, and it is projected to continue over the next decade. This translates into escalating high-risk pregnancies, deliveries and a growing demand within hospital obstetrical units. We invite you to partner with us in our efforts to improve the obstetrical health in our community.

Since its inception in 1993, the Genesys Charity Classic has raised more than $1.8 million to benefit the community. Proceeds have been used to help the uninsured and underinsured in our community, provided 116 scholarships valued at $181,705.44. We have assisted 35 students in completing their degrees and we have filled 26 positions within Genesys in a variety of fields including physical therapy, pharmacy, surgical technology and nursing.
