Hospice 5K Run/Walk

The Genesys Hospice 5 K Run/Walk
Genesys Home & Hospice Care will host its eighth annual 5K Run/Walk. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Genesys Hospice Pediatric Programs, which include the Pediatric Hospice Program, Pinwheels Pediatric Palliative Care Program, the Night Light School Grief Support Program, and Camp Brave Hearts Grief Recovery Camp.

The fundraising event will take place Saturday, Sept. 13, on the Genesys Regional Medical Center Health Park trails. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., at the Genesys Athletic Club (on the Health Park campus). The 5K Run competition starts at 10 a.m., followed by the 5K Walk at 10:05 a.m. Ronald McDonald will facilitate a kids one mile fitness run which will start at 10:45 a.m., and an indoor kids fitness fun run (1/4 mile) will start at 11 a.m. The outdoor course winds through the Mayapple and Heron nature trails, located on Health Park's 478 acres of woodlands and wildlife. The indoor kids fitness run will be in the Genesys Athletic Club indoor track. The top three finishers in each adult age group will receive awards; all participants of the kids races will receive a finishers award.

On the day of the race, childcare is available for children ages 2 - 10 years old; advance registration is required by calling (810) 606-7534.
