This is the award-winning letter sent to Carrie O'Toole:
I am writing about a nurse named Carrie who was working in the SICU unit, on November 29, 2008.

Carrie is a true nurse, an angel! My mother, Eva Belchner, was a patient in SICU that day and Carrie was her nurse. She showed our entire family so much kindness and compassion the entire time. She gave us regular updates about her prognosis and explained every step of her care to us along the way. She answered all of our questions very professionally, no matter how many times we asked.

She is truly a nurse for the right reasons!

Unfortunately, my mother passed away that evening, but Carrie's compassion and kindness will never be forgotten. She definitely left a lasting impression on our hearts.

So often these days, people only write about the negative things, so we wanted to recognize Carrie for the good that she does.
