This is the award-winning letter sent to Veronica Seibel & Beonka Conklin:
I feel compelled to express my deep gratitude concerning these two nurses. My husband was in the hospital for 3 1/2 months. He was released from the hospital on September 13, he passed on the 14th. Veronica and Beonka always checked in on my husband when there were on duty and always gave him a hug and kiss. They brightened his day. Both of them have made contact with my family and I, either through a phone call or an e-mail

I truly believe as well that on one particular day when Veronica was visiting Thomas, she save his life. His blood pressure had dropped and she brought it to my attention that he did not look good. She was right. She is a special nurse and person. She did things above and beyond the call of duty. She has a sincere kindness and compassion for people. She gave Thomas a "pocket angel." It meant so much to him. After Thomas passed, she call our home on the 16th to express her sympathy for our loss. Truly amazing and heart-felt follow-up.

Beonka stopped in every day to see Thomas, if just to stick her head in the door or stay long enough to make him feel special. When Thomas was being transferred off of her floor, she was not on duty that day. So, he made my daughter write a note to Beonka, telling her how much he appreciated the extreme care she gave him and that he loved her for it. I gave the note to another nurse at the station. That night when Beonka came in, she found Thomas and let him know that she had gotten the note and she missed him. I took a picture of her and Thomas that he wanted. Beonka sent and e-mail through the Swartz Funeral Home website to my family and I. Both of these ladies are priceless.

In my eyes Veronica and Beonka are angels!
