The DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses recognizes the super-human work nurses do every day. It was established by the DAISY Foundation—a foundation for the elimination of Diseases Attacking the Immune System in memory of Patrick J. Barnes. Mr. Barnes’ parents established the foundation in Patrick’s memory, because they had experienced first hand the skills as well as the caring and compassion of many nurses . . . The award is given monthly to recognize outstanding nursing care at Genesys.

I nominate (individual, team, unit) from the department as a deserving recipient of the DAISY Award. The following scenario is an example of excellence in patient care, highlighting (as the DAISY Foundation terms it) the “Super human work done by nurses every day.”
